Labeling Your Homebrew

The good thing is that hand-made labels are extremely attractive – it is hard to overlook them when they are placed near printed labels. MacDay labels have been designed to complement existing shrink caps as offered by Southern Homebrew. Each label can be coordinated with at least 5 different colors of shrink caps providing multiple looks with the same base label. The basic colors used are ivory, white, gold, silver, red, blue, green, burgundy and black.

If you don't need anything too custom, the Beer Labelizer is a great website for making easy labels. They claim to have good luck using milk as an adhesive, though I've yet to personally try it. The application allows you to choose a basic professionally-done label template from the wide list of options. Then you can customize it to your liking.

Label your bottles, bottle necks, even bottle caps! StickerYou's labels are waterproof, UV fade resistant, heat resistant, and will come off clean allowing you to re-use the bottles. You can upload your own designs or personalize one of our templates, and create awesome labels for bottles and even kegs for your liquid masterpiece.

You can also print on vinyl which looks amazing, and is super easy to remove, and doesn't result in any condensation problems. It's more expensive, but can save you time de-labelling since they generally come off in one satisfying peel. You could probably even re-use them which could save you money in the long run . If using images or graphics from the Internet, make sure they are high resolution. You can always lower the resolution to fit your design, but it is impossible to add resolution to an image. I tell people trying to add resolution to an image is like trying to make $1 into $100, it just doesn’t work.
